REFERRALS
Referrals for Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessment & Psychological Evaluations
Referrals are accepted for patients ages 18 months to 21.
Please request your child's primary care doctor or specialist fax the demographic page, last visit note, and referral question to 318-300-3561 or the closest Behavioral Specialists office. We will schedule without a referral but prefer a referral when an established primary care relationship exists.
Referrals for Applied Behavior Analysis
Referrals are accepted for patients ages 18 months to 21
Patients with a current diagnostic evaluation, pupil appraisal report, or IEP/504/IFSP should specify this information is available in the referral.
Referrals for Psychological Services
Referrals are accepted for patients ages 18 months to 21
Please request a referral from your child's current prescriber and/or primary care doctor (as described above).
Referrals for Counseling Services
Referrals are accepted for children and teens age 7-18.
Please request a referral from your child's current prescriber and/or primary care doctor (as described above). We prefer a psychological evaluation be available in the patient record as a component of a counseling referral. If an evaluation has not been conducted, we offer the service in our clinic.
We accept four Medicaid plans (out of network for Amerihealth Caritas and Humana), Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Verity, Web TPA, MultiPlan, United Healthcare and some other private insurances. We do not accept any form of TriCare, Willis Knighton system coverage, or Texas Medicaid. Affordable cash payment options are available.

Shreveport, Winnfield and Natchitoches.
Full time staff receive paid time off and benefits (retirement, health, dental).
Employment with Behavioral Specialists of Louisiana is excellent internship experience for students of psychology, education, pre-medicine, nursing, or allied health. Persons must be age 18 or older with a high school diploma.
